The little old lady within
I haven’t always liked tea. My sister and I did, however, have some killer tea parties. We would pretend to be little, old ladies and would wear shawls. Now, that tea had so much sugar and milk in it that calling it tea is stretching it a bit. So to me tea is like wine or beer (most alcohol for that matter) – something you have to acquire a taste for. And man, do I have a taste for it now. Tea, I mean. Well, the other things too if truth be told.
I definitely have my favorites. But I’m always open to trying new things. I was recently introduced to a new tea company called Teatulia by a gal I’ve known since Jr. High. Remember when it was Jr. High? Anyway, Piper and my sister have been good, good buds for years and Piper works for Teatulia.
Teatulia teas are organically grown from a single garden in Northern Bangladesh. The teas are then shipped direct without the use of a middle man or long-term warehousing. This stuff is fresh, fresh, fresh. The company also does a lot with regard to social responsibility. Knowing all of that makes me feel better about buying their product. Must be the hippie in me.
Piper recenlty brought be some samples and I loved them! I tried the Tulsi Infusion, the Ginger, the Lemongrass, and the Green tea. I can’t honestly say one was more my fave than another – I really enjoyed them all. The Tulsi Infusion and the Green tea would make a good breakfast tea while I could see the other two making a great afternoon tea – something to liven me up after lunch.
If you’re not a tea drinker, Teatulia teas would make a great gift, what with the holidays just around the corner and all (eek). Hey, I hate to bring it up, but stores are just days away from carting out the holiday stuff, which is ridiculous, but true.
