Kicking off #Reverb11

Last year I participated in an online event during the month of December called Reverb10. (Look to the tag cloud in the bottom right and click on #Reverb10 to see those posts if you’re interested.) This online event was started by Gwen, Cali and Kaileen and had the participation of thousands!

I received and email two days ago that the ladies who hosted Reverb10 would not be hosting a similar event this year. I was pretty bummed as I really enjoyed participating last year and was looking forward to doing so again this year. They did recommend that people create their own event and make the month of December a time to share and reflect.

So, my buddy Melanie over at melsidwell.com and I decided to create our own list of 31 prompts – one for each day of the month – to speak to in December. Below is our list. We highly encourage any of you fellow bloggers to make this list your own and join in with us. If you are following along, WELCOME! Please leave a comment below and I’ll start a list here of those playing along with Mel and I so others can find your site.

The Rules:

There are none, really. Participate when you want, as much as you want. Write all the prompts you want. Skip the prompts you don’t. Write prompts late, early or right on time. Read into the prompts as much as you want or write as vague as possible. Have fun. Be reflective. And if you are up for it, share with us and the Reverb community what you’re thinking and sharing — here on this blog, on Mel’s blog Melsidwell.com, and on Twitter by using the hashtag #reverb11 (follow @melsidwell and @anniebrokaw on Twitter while you’re at it and let us know you’re participating). Thanks.

The Prompts:

December 1. Resolve: What resolution did you make for 2011 that you didn’t follow through on? What resolution did you follow through on?

December 2. Magical: The holidays can be a stressful time of the year. What do you do to help you recapture and remember that childlike wonder of the season you might have forgotten?

December 3. Event: Did you attend or host an event this past year that rocked your socks off? Please tell us about it!

December 4. Zsa Zsa Zsu: Who is your celebrity crush? What do you think makes someone crush-worthy?

December 7. Habit: Name one bad habit you would like to break. Name one good habit you wished you had.

December 8. Home: Name one thing you like about where you live.

December 9. Childhood: Tell a funny story about you from your childhood. You know, the one that is always shared at family gatherings or when your family meets your significant other.

December 10. Give: Please tell us more about the best gift given to you this last year. Or perhaps you would like to tell us about one you gave.

December 11. Learn: What did you learn to do or make in 2011? What would you like to learn to do or make in 2012?

December 17. LOL: Who or what makes you laugh?

December 18. Cha-Ching!: If you were given an unexpected $100, what would you do with it?

December 30. Birthday: If you could do anything for your birthday in 2012, what would you do?

December 31. WILD CARD: We’re still trying to come up with an idea. Got one? Let us know!
