#Reverb11 – Childhood

{For the month of December a fellow blogger, Melanie, and I are leading  #reverb11 – an online initiative that prompts people to reflect on the past year and look towards the new one.}

December 9. Childhood: Tell a funny story about you from your childhood. You know, the one that is always shared at family gatherings or when your family meets your significant other.

One day my mom and her good buddy at the time Claudia decided to take their kids to McDonald’s. Or was it Burger King? Probably Burger King seeing as how my mom loved their chicken sandwiches.

Anyway, as the whole gang was filing out of the joint, I lagged behind. My mom and Claudia turned around in time to catch my odd exchange with another patron. This man, a business man, was sitting outside in his suit, reading his paper, and minding his own business.

I walked up, lifted the top bun off his burger and shouted at him, “Did you get cheese!?” Slammed the bun down and walked off. He sat stunned while my mom and Claudia laughed so hard they nearly peed themselves.

What about you? Do you have a good childhood story to tell?

  • About Me

    My mother is an encyclopedia of useless information (sorry, ma, but it's true) - no one can beat her at Trivial Pursuit. As I age, I become more like dear old mom everyday. I routinely tell people about resources, recipes, tips, tricks, or websites I've heard about, tried, live by, etc. until one of my clients urged me to start a blog. So here it is! My perpetual ramblings. I hope you find them useful and amusing. If you don't, you can either keep it to yourself or leave me a well constructed critique.

    I'm a former massage therapist, a freelance journalist, and a web information architect and UX designer. I enjoy yoga, the Bar Method, camping, reading, gardening, and spending time with my friends and loved ones. I live in Colorado.
