Confession Thursday

  1. Confession I absolutely hate the term “cougar” to refer to women who date younger men. I find it totally derogatory. Age and maturity are not synonymous. As a friend says, “It’s not the age, but the mileage.” That concept works both ways, by the way.
  2. During the AFC Championship game (YAY BRONCOS!) this past weekend I noticed they had the words to the national anthem on the Jumbotron. I find that totally offensive. I mean, really! If you don’t know the words, don’t sing. Seriously. Don’t. They aren’t meant for you.
  3. The way my dad handles a remote drives me nuts. The sound goes up (really loud), then down. Then up. Then down. Then up. Then down. Then up. Then down. CONSTANTLY. It’s akin to a person who pushes the gas, then the brake, then the gas, then the brake…argh!
  4. When I was a kid, whenever we would toast at a meal I would call it “dot-to-dot”. I guess the sound of glasses clinking together sounded like that to me. So it’s become an inside thing in my family. Every night my parents “dot-to-dot” before taking a sip of their beverage. I love little inside family tidbits like that!
  5. As of recently, a good weekend is measured by two things. 1) Did I go dancing? 2) Did I go to church? Weekends with both are the best.

  • About Me

My mother is an encyclopedia of useless information (sorry, ma, but it's true) - no one can beat her at Trivial Pursuit. As I age, I become more like dear old mom everyday. I routinely tell people about resources, recipes, tips, tricks, or websites I've heard about, tried, live by, etc. until one of my clients urged me to start a blog. So here it is! My perpetual ramblings. I hope you find them useful and amusing. If you don't, you can either keep it to yourself or leave me a well constructed critique.

I'm a former massage therapist, a freelance journalist, and a web information architect and UX designer. I enjoy yoga, the Bar Method, camping, reading, gardening, and spending time with my friends and loved ones. I live in Colorado.
