5 things I’m loving right now

Love-FireWelp, I’m home from Aruba, which feels good and not good. We had a great time and I felt utterly relaxed and devoid of all stress. I could use a bit more of that! But then I was ready to be done. It’s always a good sign when you feel like you got what you needed from vacation, but that you’re ready and happy to be home. There was so much to love from the past week!

  1. Staying at this house. Seriously amazing, this place. Loved it and I highly recommend it.
  2. Getting to go on this incentive trip with six of my favorite people. When I started my AdvoCare business, I was certain incentive trips were a joke. No one wins those! I’ve been on two in the past six months.
  3. White sand beaches and water so warm it’s like you’re taking a tepid bath. So, so glorious.
  4. Days of not doing my hair and wearing minimal make up if any. Have I mentioned how much I hate wearing make up? Oh, only about 45 times, you say? Sorry about that.
  5. Coming home to one of my favorite people picking me up at the airport and then crawling into my own bed.

Confession Thursday

  1. Confession I consider myself to be a responsible person, which I think is a good thing because I regularly find myself in situations where things could go badly if I weren’t so. You know, one customer service person tells you one thing and you make a note to confirm that later only to be told something else entirely by another person. That sort of annoying thing. I think life must be much harder for irresponsible people.
  2. I’ve been trying to say “thank you” instead of “thanks” lately. Something about “thanks” just seems trite and not fully representative of my appreciation.
  3. I’m so tired of hearing about Caitlyn Jenner I could cry. Seriously, do we have nothing better to ponder in society right now than a person’s choice about their own body and identity?
  4. Summer just got here and it already feels like it’s moving too fast. I looked at my calendar the other day and things are already booked out into August. That makes me both excited and a tad bummed out.
  5. I leave for a trip I earned with AdvoCare to Aruba in 10 days. I’m so super pumped I can barely stand it!

5 things I’m loving right now

Love-FireI spent the weekend in Santa Barbara, CA visiting a friend and helping her grow her AdvoCare business. It yielded many things to love!

  1. The window seat on a plane. I almost always sit in the aisle, but I had the window seat on two flights this past weekend and it was awesome to see everything below us. I’ll be doing that more often!
  2. People who feel like long lost sisters and a kindred spirit. Robint and I had a great time!
  3. A nice walk on the beach. It’s been many years since I was down on the beach next to the ocean.
  4. The new Mad Max movie. So awesome! And probably one of the strangest movies I’ve ever seen. I wonder about some people’s imaginations. Truly.
  5. The excitement that comes from knowing you have solutions that can help people with their health and finances – the two biggest things people struggle with. It’s very empowering and humbling to help people find a better way.

5 things I’m loving right now

  1. Love-FireThe excitement my niece has when she sees me.
  2. Experiencing an amazingly powerful and inspirational weekend with some of my favorite people at the AdvoCare regional conference.
  3. Effortlessly thoughtful people. Do you know anyone like that? Where it’s just so obvious that being thoughtful is inherent and without any agenda whatsoever? If not, let me tell you that it’s pretty amazing.
  4. Falling asleep while being read to. Now I know why kids love it so much. Very soothing.
  5. People with vision and the cojones to take a leap of faith. It’s a scary thing to do, but great things usually result. Even if it’s great lessons on what not to do the next time you leap! Upshot – the leap is worth it.

5 things I’m loving right now

  1. Love-FireSupportive people who regularly send me prayers and good juju. We can all use a little of that, right?
  2.  Brown rice cakes with cashew butter. So satisfying for a healthy snack.
  3. Knowing that resolution to a stressful thing is right around the corner…
  4. Big, warm flannel shirts that keep me cozy on cold winter nights. I’m ready for winter to be over!
  5. Being able to help people feel better and more hopeful in their lives because of AdvoCare. It’s such a blessing to be a part of positive transformation with people.
  • About Me

My mother is an encyclopedia of useless information (sorry, ma, but it's true) - no one can beat her at Trivial Pursuit. As I age, I become more like dear old mom everyday. I routinely tell people about resources, recipes, tips, tricks, or websites I've heard about, tried, live by, etc. until one of my clients urged me to start a blog. So here it is! My perpetual ramblings. I hope you find them useful and amusing. If you don't, you can either keep it to yourself or leave me a well constructed critique.

I'm a former massage therapist, a freelance journalist, and a web information architect and UX designer. I enjoy yoga, the Bar Method, camping, reading, gardening, and spending time with my friends and loved ones. I live in Colorado.
